Serbia beats Italy in the doubles and makes it to the final
Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki captured the deciding point in the doubles match against Italy (2-1) and thus made it to final of the ARAG WORLD TEAM CUP 2009. They defeated Andreas Seppi and Francesco Piccari 6-0, 7-6. The 32-year old experienced player, Nenad Zimonjic, who is the current No. 1 of the doubles world ranking, and Viktor Troicki captured three victories in three matches and will thus receive € 18,400 in addition to the “ordinary” prize money. By winning the finals, they could even add another € 8,000.
It is Serbia’s first time at the ARAG WORLD TEAM CUP, making it straight to the final. Only Yugoslavia (1990) and Croatia (1995) succeeded in doing so with Yugoslavia winning the final, whereas Croatia lost the final tie. Dusseldorf (pps)
