Spain, USA, Russia Top 2008 Qualifiers
Argentina will have the opportunity to defend its ARAG ATP World Team Championship title next May after finishing in fourth position in the Race to Düsseldorf (David Nalbandian - 9, Guillermo Canas - 18).
Spain tops the qualifiers in the elite eight-team field, boasting two players in the Top 10 the ATP 2007 Race – Rafael Nadal (2) and David Ferrer (5) – and is followed in the standings by the United States (Andy Roddick - 6, James Blake - 13), and Russia (Nikolay Davydeno - 4, Mikhail Youzhny - 19).
Other countries to have directly qualified for the 2008 ARAG ATP World Team Championship include France, Switzerland and 2006 winner Croatia.
Host country and three-time champion Germany currently stands in the eighth position and may need wild card entry in order to participate in the 2008 Championship. Other top tennis nations looking to receive the wild card include 2007 finalists Czech Republic, Serbia and two-time winner Chile.
The first seven countries with the lowest aggregate ATP Race position of their top two players on November 19, 2007, directly qualify with one spot reserved for a wild card team.
