Kiefer's Contribution to German Title hopes

His confirmation to participate in the ARAG ATP World Team Championship has been a formality: "Playing in Germany for the German team competing in Duesseldorf is a foregone conclusion. We have to defend the title and I want to contribute to achieve this feat," explained Nicolas Kiefer after confirming his place. Tommy Haas will be the second World Class player next to Kiefer, trying to"keep" the Cup in Germany.

"Kiwi" cites further three important reasons in favor of his participation in the 29th edition of the World Team Championship: "After 1998 and 2005 I want to hold the trophy a third time. Accordingly, Kiefer would become the most successful player at the Tennis World Team Championship apart from Stefan Edberg. And of course the Davis Cup tie in February 2006 when the German team lost 2-3 to France plays an important role: We failed to meet the high expectations of the spectators. In Duesseldorf well be trying to recapture the hearts of our fans."

Additionally quite the football enthusiast by winning the ARAG ATP World Team Championship Kiwi wants to give an impetus to the German national squad: Well capture the title even though we might be considered outsiders and our football team will have to follow suit.
